Professor Galacticus and Captain Frictus, accompanied by a horde of Ziguychoulaïs, come back from their interstitial experimentation laboratory with a debunking active substance: Vitamyte B12

Vitamyte B12 is the result of three years of work, research and various investigations, which synthesize through this fourth release the multiple influences explored lately by the musical android Cosmyte.

A music that borrows as much from the classical codes of the ancestral psychedelic music of Goa, from its acidic melodic lines very typical of the machines used by Professor Galacticus; as from the more modern influences of downtempo psybass and drums/bass whose groove sometimes approaches hip-hop; and is characterised by the explorations of the acoustic instruments of Captain Frictus such as the Handpans which have a central place in the compositions of the group.

This album is a great place for collaborations. In addition to the eternal and historic Bichinia on flute and Divanovic on vocals, there are two Argentine artists (Fran The Lobster and Agustin Moroni) and two artists from the Hadra Alter Visions label (Lakay and Yoy Project). These collaborations reflect the values of the Cosmyte project, between explorations of new musical regions and cultures and the weaving of close links within the label for family collaborations with the same musical influence.

The result is a rich album, which offers a certain stage of maturity for the group, with a diversity of influences, the very essence of the project, while asserting a guiding line and an artistic identity that is increasingly clean.


Le Professeur Galacticus et le Capitaine Frictus, accompagnés d’une horde de Ziguychoulaïs, reviennent de leur laboratoire d’expérimentation interstitielle avec une une substance active débinarisante : la Vitamyte B12

Vitamyte B12 est le fruit de trois ans de travail, de recherche, et d’investigations diverses, qui viennent synthétiser à travers cette quatrième sortie les multiples influences explorées ces derniers temps par l’androïd musical Cosmyte.

Une musique qui emprunte autant aux codes classiques de la musique psychédélique ancestrale de Goa, de ses lignes mélodiques acide très typiques des machines utilisées par le Professeur Galacticus; qu’aux influences plus modernes de la downtempo psybass et des batteries/basses dont les groove se rapprochent parfois du hip-hop; et se caractérise par les explorations des instruments acoustiques du Capitaine Frictus comme les Handpans qui ont une place centrale dans les compositions du groupe.

Cet album fait la part belle aux collaborations. En plus des éternels et historiques Bichinia à la flûte et Divanovic au chant, on retrouve deux artistes argentins (Fran The Lobster et Agustin Moroni) et deux artistes du label Hadra Alter Visions (Lakay et Yoy Project). Des collaborations à l’image des valeurs du projet Cosmyte, entre explorations de contrées et cultures musicales nouvelles et tissage de liens proches à l’intérieur du label pour des collaborations familiales et de même influence musicale.

Résultat, un album riche, qui offre à écouter une certaine étape de maturité du groupe, avec une diversité d’influences, essence même du projet, tout en affirmant une ligne directrice et une identité artistique de plus en plus propre.
